grandfather's birthday..

grandfather's (mother side) birthday dinner today.. as usual, the whole lot of us, around 20 people, proceeded to the same place we went to for the past few years.. this whole bunch of relatives whom i only meet 2-3 times every year.. nothing much to say about them except that they are all very nice people..

most of them are 1 generation older than me and thus we really have no common topic to converse, except the usual stuff like asking me how's my school work and all that.. moreover i am the type who dun really talk much (or rather dun really LIKE to talk much) except for times when i'm very happy, or with certain friends i can click with..

dinner was fun though i din really talk much.. i was happy just being able to have dinner with these people, hear them talk about stuff like buying 4D etc.. much of the conversation revolve around money.. seems that money is very important to them..
2 of my uncles secretly passed me some money.. 1 $20 n 1 $100.. of course i accepted them.. we dun meet often and thus their only form of showing care n concern for me is through giving me money, i guess.. and i'm really quite grateful..

actually have alot of things to write down.. but now's exam period so dun wanna waste too much time.. juz wanna conclude i had a great time this evening (not because of the $120 of course)..

today's the birthday of 'pinky', and today's the first time i actually talked to her.. met her for a cup of coffee about 2 hrs before my design paper.. chatted with her for about half an hour..

hmm.. saw her once during the starting of my 2nd year 1st semester, when i just got into MAE.. she was the vice-president of the MAE Club then, and was assigned to give us a speech.. could still remember her all this while even though i did not actually see her again until recently.. i'm surprised myself that she's now my friend.. anyway just wanna wish her a happy birthday..

the design paper today was really hard and i left about 33 marks blank..was quite confident before the paper (thats why got time to meet someone for coffee), but after the paper, it was like the song we (me, yz, zq, jj n yh) listened while we studied in the tutorial room. The lyrics go "I tried so hard, and get so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter. I had to fall, to lose it all..." Haizz..

anyway, i'm very grateful to these guys for helping me with my preparations with exams.. especially Yong Hong for teaching me MP3011.. really had fun studying together with these guys, even though sometimes i get quite pissed off..
3 papers passed so far, 3 more to go.. i really hope exams finish fast..

2 papers gone.. 4 more left..

went sch in the morning today n i saw "pinky" at canteen A again.. 2 days in a row already.. walked past there n when i looked up she also happened to look up, pleasant surprise to start the day.. some people call this fate.. hahaa.. i think too much liao..

had my 2nd paper for this semester, Heat Transfer. went into the exam hall thinking i'll get a 'B' for this paper, but came out knowing i'll most probably get a 'C'.. Argh.. sianz.. saddened.. disappointed..

effort put in not equals results u get.. nonetheless feeling much better now.. as the chinese saying goes: shit weng lose horse, dunno issit a bad thing or a blessing in disguise.. hahaa.. must learn to look at things on the bright side.. i've always believe there are 2 sides to everything.. depends on which side u choose to look at..

tomorrow's the first day of exams..

haizz.. tomorrow's the 1st day of exams and i'm damn stressed now. woke up today to a nice weather n everyone's mood seems to be rather good.. got the 'holidays already' feeling.. den went for lunch with haolingz, jazzel, terry, amelia, jeanie n yongcai.. long time nvr go eat in such a large grp le.. =) by the time we came back, i got a girlfriend! and i dun even know who is she.. ^^"

study study till 7 plus had dinner den short nap den study again.. now super stressed over MP3002..

anyway, some exam tips here:

(1) have sufficient sleep even if u cannot finish studying.
(2) wake up earlier to have breakfast b4 you go for ur paper (experts say eat le den can think n work)
(3) since it is necessary to have breakfast, make sure u wake up damn early to eat liao den go shit b4 ur paper (my own suggestion)
(4) relax urself b4 e paper. dun try to read n absorb anything when u are juz outside e examination hall (dun be that STUPID, u will only make urself more nervous)
(5) bring a stuff toy to e examination hall. keep playing wif it n distract ur opponents.

For 2 days i went to our hall reading room to study.. Sat in front of this gal yesterday n saw that she had e 'Heat Transfer' textbook i need badly.. Wanted to borrow from she but am abit shy..

Coincidentally, i sat beside her today! Both times she left her things in e reading room and wasn't there. I went in n juz choose a seat n it juz happened. Hmm.. and she brought e textbook along today also..

Finally i plucked up my courage to.. borrow her textbook.. hahaa..
